About Jonah DiGirolamo

Jonah has been teaching for a majority of his life. At the age of 12 he began helping in pre-school classrooms and hasn't stopped teaching in one way or another since. In 2009 Jonah found the Flow Arts, changing his entire life. What started as a hobby quickly became an obsession and eventually became his entire life. Movement and dance are life in his eyes. In Winter of 2013 Jonah became a certified Firewalk facilitator, continuing his journey as a teacher. Ever open to the lessons available around him, Jonah looks forward to the next lesson on his journey while sharing what he has learned.

When asked, "how did you become a firewalk instructor?"

At 23 years of age I arrived in the Sacramento airport, my last $20 in my pocket, to meet up with someone I had never met and drive several hours in order to train as a Firewalk Instructor. As I entered a car with Carlos, I was uncertain of what the future would hold but in a moment where I had committed everything, I felt I was on the right path.
A little over 7 years later I look back at that training and see how it continues to shape my life today. Not only was I given access to the necessary skills and information for leading Firewalks, I was taught lessons in working with others, pushing mental boundaries in addition to physical, and, most importantly, how to share these lessons with others.

Through the FIT courses I was pushed over and over to the limits of what I thought I could do and what I thought was possible. These lessons earned a permanent place in my subconscious, replacing "no" and "I'm not sure" with "Yes" and "I'm learning".
